my kuching mission trip!

hello dear all! Here i am, once again to share abt my trip!wahaha! From the title of this post, I supposed all of you should know that I went to Kuching (in Msia). Kuching actually means cat in malay. I went to the cat musuem, and apparently I found out that nobody knows why was Kuching named Kuching...HA! But the extract in the musuem concluded that it's probably named Kuching cause there were many cats in Sarawak during that time, thus the name Kuching.

FIRST DAY, we woke up at 4am (10 dec)..yup..your eyes ain't playing any trick on you..it's 4am! Ha! and kind souls drove us to Senai airport to catch our budget airline..all of us in the plane!

okie! these are the pictures of us in the plane.. shortly after we arrived at Kuching, Major Chamala (not sure how to spell her name) came to fetch us in a van with the salvation army logo sign in front! We stayed at the boys' home.. the girls' lodge is real good..check it out!

me and nei nei's room! we had the master bedroom!wahahaha!!looks good right! Dont we look lovey dovey!wahahah!:P
The living room- where we had fun by playing games like Snorta, Hali Gali, Bridge etc..
okie! Then we started working after unpacking our stuff! Doors! We painted the doors green!!

And the hands green as well!ha!
We were all so tired on the first night that we slept at round 9.30pm (okie at least that is for me and neinei..) hehe!

2nd day, we went to the "little India" in Kuching! and we bought black pepper there!wahaha! and we did jump shots in the middle of the paths..-_-lll..

we went to the children's home and performed a skit for the children at night.. The skit is abt Jonah.. (a bible story).. abt how he got swallowed by a big fish for being disobedient and eventually got "puked" out after deciding to obey God.. Check out the big fish we made!

The kids there are really nice and cute..though it's a fact that they are being abandoned by their parents,,and it can be heart wrenching at the thought of it.. but I feel that they can be counted as blessed children as they are able to be live together like a big family unlike those children roaming around without a home. At least there are ppl there to shower them with love that their parents cannot provide..if you see it from a different perspective, maybe they ain't as "piti-able" as we think they are.. :D
A song that we sung during our devotion which I found really meaningful! To give thanks in everything!:D
GIVE THANKS WITH A GRATEFUL HEART
GIVE THANKSTO THE HOLY ONE
GIVE THANKS
FOR HE'S GIVEN
JESUS CHRIST, HIS SON(X2)
AND NOW LET THE WEAK SAY
I AM STRONG
LET THE POOR SAY
I AM RICH
BECAUSE OF WHATTHE LORD HAS DONE
FOR US (X2)
GIVE THANKS...

On the 3rd day we decorated the dining hall at the boys' home..wahaha! This is the christmas tree we decorated! blue and silver is the theme! Nice!

I like the photo below cos i think ah nei looks like she is performing some stunts..she is 45 degree from the ground..wahah!

We went to damai beach to kayak after the decorations if i nv remember wrongly..wahaha!! trust me!it's loads of fun!!! The beach is super pretty.. Initially, in my mind I had different pictures of how the beach would look like- filled with rubbish and all.. but trust me, none of what I had pictured was seen!:D and thank God no one drown!
The kayakers!

As I look at the photo below, I realised we have been friends for almost half my life..arms holding on to one another, being there for one another in times of troubles and all..even if it means just by standing bside one another, saying nothing at all, but you know that I am there, and I know that you are there..that's what friendship is all abt!:D

Yup..time flies..In a blink of eyes, 4 days of mission trip ended without me knowing! and time for us to bid farewell to this place where friendship was bonded..we brought back the sun burns as memories..ha!

A prayer to mark the end of the mission trip.. Leaders of the church praying and encouraging each other in their own ministry.. Though things aren't as easy as they seem to keep the children's home and boys' home going, but both the leaders; all the youths knew that God is there to pave the way!:D

That's all! Fun and meaningful trip! :D
